About Specialty Medications

The Health Plan’s Prescription Drug Program Vendor provides and administers a Specialty Pharmacy Program for certain high costing prescriptions, typically used for the treatment of rare or serious health conditions.

The Health Plan's Brand name Deductible will also apply to Preferred and Non-Preferred Brand Name Specialty Medications.

Specialty Pharmacy Prescriptions are filled through mail-order only and can only be dispensed 30-days at a time.

A listing of prescription medications covered as Specialty is not listed below, as this class of Medications changes too frequently for a listing to be effective. Instead, please contact the Health Plan's Administration Office for inquiries regarding Specialty Medications.
